How the watermark is drawn
The text is drawn onto a chip (a translucent dark strip) so it stays readable on any photo: bright skies, dark floors, busy backgrounds. The size scales with the image, so a watermark that suits a 4000-pixel photo also suits a 600-pixel thumbnail without retuning anything.
The corners are the quiet places; the centre is the loud one; tile repeats the text diagonally across the whole image, the pattern that survives cropping. Opacity is the second lever: 70 percent reads clearly, 30 percent whispers.
The jobs it exists for: signing portfolio shots with a handle, marking proofs and previews before delivery, labelling internal images, and putting a copyright on photographs before they leave your device.
Limits and honest notes
A drawn watermark is not protection: it is pixels like any other, and a determined editor can crop or clone it out. It marks ownership and discourages casual reuse.
JPG output re-compresses at your chosen quality; PNG is lossless and keeps flat colours exact. Metadata is dropped in the re-encode. Up to 25 MB per file, 100 files per run, all on your device.
Frequently asked questions
Which position should I use?
Bottom-right for signing, centre for loud proofs, tile when the image may be cropped. The corners stay quietest.
Can I use my logo instead of text?
This tool stamps text. For logo watermarks, overlay the PNG in a design tool, or watch for an image-overlay update.
Why is there a dark strip behind the text?
The chip keeps the text legible on any background. Lower the opacity if you want it subtler.
Are my images uploaded?
No. The watermark is drawn entirely in your browser.
