How to excel to pdf
- Choose your .xlsx, .xls or .csv file, or drop it on the page.
- Press Convert. Every sheet is read and rendered as a table, one after another.
- Wide sheets automatically turn the page to landscape; narrow ones stay portrait.
- Download the PDF.
About this conversion
The workbook is read with SheetJS: every sheet, in workbook order, becomes a titled table in one PDF. The first row of each sheet is treated as the header row and styled with the site's ink-on-paper palette; every following row becomes the table body.
Orientation is decided per sheet: more than five columns turns that sheet's page to landscape so wide tables keep readable columns instead of being crushed. Numbers come out as displayed text, so dates, currencies and leading zeros survive exactly as the spreadsheet shows them.
CSV files work too — a CSV is a one-sheet workbook, and its rows land in the same clean table.
Limits and honest notes
Formulas are converted to their last computed values (that is what the .xlsx stores); charts, images, conditional formatting and cell colours are not carried over. Merged cells un-merge, with the value in the first cell.
Very wide tables wrap within their columns rather than shrinking the font below readability. Sheets with no readable rows are skipped, and a workbook with no readable rows at all is reported honestly rather than producing an empty PDF.
Up to 50 MB per file. Password-protected workbooks are refused with a clear message. Everything runs in this tab; nothing is uploaded.
Frequently asked questions
Are formulas recalculated?
No: the PDF shows the values stored in the file from the last save. Re-save in Excel if a formula was never computed.
Why did my sheets come out landscape?
Sheets with more than five columns turn to landscape so the columns stay readable. Narrow sheets stay portrait automatically.
Does it keep my cell colours and charts?
No: the output is a clean, readable table per sheet. Colours, charts and conditional formatting are not part of the conversion.
Can it read password-protected workbooks?
Not while they are protected. Remove the password in Excel first, then convert.
